Relax, It’s just a tee. Caring for embroidered shirts is easy
When people hear embroidery, they think of stiff, scratchy corporate branded polos for workers. They are uncomfortable, requiring ironing and extra care to keep looking good. But just because something is embroidered doesn’t mean it requires an instruction booklet or an extra hour in the laundry each week. Our T-shirts are just cotton shirts that happen to have fantastic, subtle embroidered designs on them. No ironing, no extra care. Read on for how you can easily get the most out of our shirts.
The Caring Spectrum
Fast fashion has taught us that shirts don’t last. Chuck them in the washing machine, chuck them in the dryer. Wear them a few times and the printing fades and cracks and they start to lose their shape. These semi-disposable items don’t last, so why should you care?
On the other end of the spectrum, you have your suit that comes out once a year to attend a wedding. It needs to be babied. It needs to be dry cleaned. It even has a special slip-on cover when being hung so it doesn’t get dusty. The only reason you buy a new one is either because it doesn’t fit anymore or because fashion has moved on and you can’t get away with a skin-tight jacket in 2026.
Our embroidered T-shirts take the best of both worlds. Much easier to care for than formal wear, and by following a few simple guidelines, they can give years of wear without much hassle.
Nobody Likes a Polo
We have all had a bad experience with a polo. Whether it was wearing one to your casual job during high school, or a misplaced way to dress up to look more like an adult. There’s a reason we all went back to the humble tee. Comfortable, practical, low maintenance, and featuring designs that allow a bit of personality to show. But the issue wasn’t the embroidery. It was the annoying collar, the scratchy cotton pique, the ironing, and the extra care required for the collar and buttons.
The reality is embroidery is the best bit. It’s stitched into the fabric, tough as nails, requires no extra care, and will outlast the garment.
The Rules
Follow these rules when washing to get an embroidered shirt that lasts ages. You probably do most of these anyway:
- Flip it inside out
- Cold wash
- Line dry
- Avoid ironing directly over the embroidery. (Who irons a tee anyway?)
And that’s about it. You will notice these rules match those of any quality cotton t-shirt. That’s because the embroidery thread itself is strong polyester with a stabilized backing.
Stop worrying, start wearing
Quality embroidered shirts like ours are tough. They are just as easy to wash and care for as a normal printed tee. In fact, compared to screen printing, you can be even more carefree.
Our shirts are perfect for someone who wants a low-maintenance, everyday tee that will last. Select one of our shirts, take a glance at the rules above, wash it like everything else, and focus on something more important than laundry.
